My Jersey Shore name

I finally did the Jersey Shore generator. This is the one I used.

http://www.unlikelywords.com/2009/12/08/jersey-shore-nickname-generator/

Everyone’s had pretty cool or hilarious nicknames so I was like…Let me do mine. And what do I get? The Marisa Tomei of the Bronx..… The longest name ever hahaha.  So I clicked the button again and it gave me another one.  Sunny.  I’ll settle for that. LOL :-)

Boom Mic Creator

Interesting fact I found on Biography.com

INVENTING THE BOOM MICROPHONE:
Dorothy Arzner
The longest-working and most respected female director of her time in Hollywood, Arzner directed Clara Bow in “The Wild Party” (1927), a female buddy movie that was Paramount’s first talkie. On that set, she devised a boom microphone. Arzner also directed movies starring Katharine Hepburn and Joan Crawford.

….See? Look at that. If It wasn’t for a woman we wouldn’t have a boom mic….And I love that thing. hahaha. :-)

Finding Motivation

I decided I would put some links that helped find my motivation. See, one day I was just starting to doubt my ambitions. I wasn’t getting excited about anything anymore and I wanted to find ways to fight against it. I’ve always had this problem. I get really excited about something, try to find the answers to questions I have about it, and once I find it or I know a pretty decent amount about it, I start to lose interest.

No longer tolerating this loss of excitement, energy or enthusiasm, I googled about it. My objective was to find perhaps some kind of mantra to tell myself whenever I felt …bland. I found some but I also found some articles and personality tests which were fun.

Here’s what I found.

Start with this one. It’s straightforward.

The inspirational quotes:

Another set of Inspirational quotes:

http://sidsavara.com/start-pages/destroy-procrastination-with-action

This article has a set of personality tests just in case, like me, you’re struggling with finding your TRUE passion.

http://sidsavara.com/personal-development/free-online-personality-type-tests-and-psychology-tests

Here are the tests I took ( there are more test on the last link above)

http://www.thetimeparadox.com/surveys/ztpi/

http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

I like the “how to actively take control of your time and your life” page  a lot because it lays the strategies out for you.  The tactic I especially liked was the “Stop doing your “default” activity.”  default activities are those things you do  automatically whenever you’re bored which is for everyone it’s usually TV or computer.

If you pair that up with a to do list or a brainstorm list of things you want to do some days, then instead of  going to straight to tv or computer, you pick which of those activities on your list you could do at that moment.

In the personality test on Humanmetrics.com They labeled me as a Champion personality. I will save the space and write more about me at the very end. The profiles were right on so they should be for you as well.

I found all these links to be the most helpful. Also, since sid savara’s also into psychology and personality tests I found it more fun.

Try them out. They are all short and sweet.

*** OK AND NOW MY RESULTS AND THE THINGS I FOUND HELPFUL.***

My personality profile found after the humanmetrics test at Keirsey.com Bolded are the stuff I’d label under  “I strongly agree.”

Like the other Idealists, Champions are rather rare, say two or three percent of the population, but even more than the others they consider intense emotional experiences as being vital to a full life. Champions have a wide range and variety of emotions, and a great passion for novelty. They see life as an exciting drama, pregnant with possibilities for both good and evil, and they want to experience all the meaningful events and fascinating people in the world. The most outgoing of the Idealists, Champions often can’t wait to tell others of their extraordinary experiences. Champions can be tireless in talking with others, like fountains that bubble and splash, spilling over their own words to get it all out. And usually this is not simple storytelling; Champions often speak (or write) in the hope of revealing some truth about human experience, or of motivating others with their powerful convictions. Their strong drive to speak out on issues and events, along with their boundless enthusiasm and natural talent with language, makes them the most vivacious and inspiring of all the types.

Fiercely individualistic, Champions strive toward a kind of personal authenticity, and this intention always to be themselves is usually quite attractive to others. At the same time, Champions have outstanding intuitive powers and can tell what is going on inside of others, reading hidden emotions and giving special significance to words or actions. In fact, Champions are constantly scanning the social environment, and no intriguing character or silent motive is likely to escape their attention. Far more than the other Idealists, Champions are keen and probing observers of the people around them, and are capable of intense concentration on another individual. Their attention is rarely passive or casual. On the contrary, Champions tend to be extra sensitive and alert, always ready for emergencies, always on the lookout for what’s possible.

Champions are good with people and usually have a wide range of personal relationships. They are warm and full of energy with their friends. They are likable and at ease with colleagues, and handle their employees or students with great skill. They are good in public and on the telephone, and are so spontaneous and dramatic that others love to be in their company. Champions are positive, exuberant people, and often their confidence in the goodness of life and of human nature makes good things happen.

Joan Baez, Phil Donahue, Paul Robeson, Bill Moyer, Elizibeth Cady Stanton, Joeseph Campbell, Edith Wharton, Sargent Shriver, Charles Dickens, and Upton Sinclair are examples of Idealist Champions

* Reminders: Quotes from one of the links….

“Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.”
Earl Nightingale

“Stress is caused by being in the now but wanting to be in the future, reducing the present to a means to an end.”
– The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

How to spend your day while you’re jobless.

About two weeks ago, I realized that my days were spent doing nothing I wanted to do. I had wondered why I had been so …stagnant and distracted. I hadn’t been accomplishing any of my objectives.

I decided to check out any suggestions about how to fill your day while looking for work and I found this nice link over here:

http://hubpages.com/hub/unemployed-plan

The post suggests to create a time sheet and every time you are doing something new type it in. After doing this for a while you will easily find out what wastes your time  and how often you engage in that activity.

So I gave it a try and I realized I wasted a lot of time on …youtube….watching music videos.

Since my computer is slow I can only really do about one thing at a time. Since I feel the need everyday to hear the songs that loop in my head at least a few times, I would spend 20 minutes repeating one song. If I had a few songs I could be on there for about a good two hours.

I was all like ” No wonder I can’t do everything I want to. What the hell is wrong with me?” I didn’t realized how obsessed I was with leisure activities like listening to music and watching videos until I did this. I’ve cut back on music ever since. I use things like youtube as a reward for doing an important task. I am happy to say that I’ve actually been able to accomplish some really important tasks. I’ve managed to find a lot more company sites where I can apply for work.

So I now I’ve upped my chances for getting work. I’ve also fixed up my resume for other postings not related to media.

If you feel like life is passing you by while you’re sitting around then you can create a timesheet. You’ll be able to fix the problem right away.

Horoscope/Astrology sites

I am really big on astrology. I have a couple of books on the subject. Therefore, I thought I’d list the best websites (in my opinion) and explain them below.

http://www.astrology.com/

http://www.astroadvice.com/default1.asp#top

http://www.tarot.com/

http://www.astro.com/

http://www.cafeastrology.com/

http://horoscope-x-files.com/

http://www.adze.com/

http://www.astrologizeme.com/

http://www.dailyscopes.com/

HOROSCOPE FOR THE DAY/WEEK  ETC..

Most of these are great for general horoscopes. ( Just your sun sign, like in the newspapers.) But I think Astrology.com, Tarot.com, and astroadvice are great for that. These have tons of other articles that talk about other aspects of astrology like your moon sign, mars, mercury so when you’re bored you can go ahead and read those.

READ ABOUT YOURSELF….AND OTHERS

If you want to figure out what your other signs are and read free reports about yourself you can go on astro.com which is pretty cool. They have lots of different free short reports based on your birth data. Also try adze.com which also gives some reports online.

READ MORE ABOUT ASTROLOGY CONCEPTS.

Once you have a good idea about how it all works you can look into it more yourself by checking out these sites. Astrologizeme.com is really interesting. They also have profiles based on names. Dailyscopes.com has the combiscope which has your horoscope for the week based on your Sun sign (your general demeanor) Rising sign or Ascendant ( Your first impression on others) and Moon sign ( how you are emotionally or on a more personal level). These are fun because they’ve tended to be pretty accurate. Horoscope-x-files.com has a profile for each sign on each planet. They have the most info.

IT’S NOT FORTUNE TELLING

However, astrology is not really some fortune telling device so don’t get it twisted ( don’t get me wrong) I do not believe in these things. It’s more fun to read about the way people are through their signs. Now those are pretty accurate. Relationship or synastry reports are pretty good too.

RELATIONSHIP ASTROLOGY

For more details about Synastry you can go to  astro.com, adze.com, Horoscope-x-files.com, and cafeastrology.com. The HoroscopeXFiles really have great detail about how two people interact based on their signs but it’s a bit of work to figure out which profile to read.

If you don’t want to go through the trouble, astro.com is the best or Adze.com.

I only have two books on Astrology but they’re pretty much all you’ll need.

The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need is exactly that.

Before you buy that you should get The Book of Lovers. This is the one that started my interest in astrology. That one has a profile for everyone based on their sun and moon sign. If you’re curious about what astrology has to say about your friends/interests then this is great because it is accurate.

People are always curious about astrology. I had a guy that would say it was stupid but as soon as I was reading one he’d be like ” Uh….hey what does it say for Aries? ” lol  So just check them out no matter how you feel about this. I just made it easy for you. You might get hooked on it with these websites….

the impossible quiz

Another game my niece showed me.

http://kevinfamous.com/kevinfamous%20games/Kevinfamous%20games%202/ImpossibleQuiz.html

If you are one of those people who can get a bit obsessive and not stop until you finish, this might be the game for you. :-)

Bye. :-)

Fashion Play all day

My niece showed me this website that has all these dress up games.

OMG!! It’s so much fun. I have been going crazy with it. I mean CRAZY with it.  I have made it a point to play for at least an hour a day for the past three days.

http://www.roiworld.com/fashion/dress-up-games/

This one has games based on all kinds of trends.

Project runway designs, games based on fashionable cities, some are based around shoes or season. I’m having such a good time with it, I’ve decided to display some of my “creations”. :-)

Here’s one of my creations in the “Thigh high boots” game.

and this one

This one above even had my hairstyle right now. How cool is that. lol

They even have the emo style dress up game.

And Gothic lolita style game (they call it haute horror).

I am considering joining the site. I think it’s free. I think then I can do make up. Lol :-)
